Postgraduate Registration 2012/2013

Before you can be known as a full-time or part-time student of the University you need to complete registration at the start of the academic session.  This can only be done in Aberystwyth and should be completed during Welcome Week.

You will be required to meet with staff in your own academic department and with staff in any department responsible for modules on which you wish to register.  For research students, this means you must also meet with staff in the Graduate School if you are required to, or choose to, take research training modules.

Staff in your academic department(s) will help you choose your modules.  Once you have all modules and departmental approvals required, you will be asked to complete registration online.  In order to register, you must have completed the admissions process and activated your Aberystwyth University email account.

Registration is accessed via the ‘Student Record’ under ‘Your Sites’ on the web at www.aber.ac.uk/en/student. You can register from any University Computer Room or use your own computer connected to the University network.  When you sign on to your record you should click on the ‘Registration’ button under ‘Tasks’.  You will then be guided through the process which will ask you to confirm your Personal Details, Addresses, Study Scheme and Modules.  After you have completed registration you will receive a confirmation email.

Further information regarding meeting with your academic department will be sent to you and more details will soon be available on the Academic Office website http://www.aber.ac.uk/academicoffice/postgraduate/index.shtml - Please see timetable here

If you have any questions concerning Postgraduate Registration, please contact the Academic Office by email pgsstaff@aber.ac.uk.  It is important to inform your academic department and the Academic Office if you are unable to register during Welcome Week.  Please note that if you do not complete registration your access to University facilities will be suspended

After Registration

Information for postgraduate students can be found on the Academic Office website at http://www.aber.ac.uk/academicoffice/postgraduate/index.shtml

Changes to your registration and student record

If after registering, you wish to change a module, your mode of study, study scheme, supervisor or subject of research you must complete a Postgraduate Change of Registration form which can be obtained from your department or from the Academic Office website.  You must first discuss any such changes with your department.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your personal information including keeping your address information current.  You can make changes directly to your student record (including your address) through your online student record. https://studentrecord.aber.ac.uk/en/.  For any changes that you are unable to make online, please email pgsstaff@aber.ac.uk.

For questions regarding registration or your student record, please email pgsstaff@aber.ac.uk.
