Core Audit Team and contact information

Lynn Hine is the engagement leader responsible for our audit service to the University and for the co-ordination of any special assignments.

Lynn is a first class honours graduate from University College Cardiff and is a Prize Winning Chartered Accountant based in our Cardiff office. She has a wide range of experience in both the public and private sectors providing business advisory and audit services.

Lynn attends all relevant Audit Committee meetings in addition to attending meetings with senior officers to discuss any points arising from the audits. Lynn is available to advise the University at any time and is responsible for issuing our annual Internal Audit opinion.

Stuart re-joined the firm following a period as the Internal Audit Manager at the University of Wales College, Newport. This involved setting up the Internal Audit department and establishing its standards and methodologies in line with the HEFCW Audit Code of Practice.

Stuart has 20 years experience in public sector Internal Audit with 12 years at chief Internal Audit/audit manager level including three years as the Audit Manager at South Herefordshire District Council. During his previous time with the firm, Stuart was responsible for managing a number of Internal Audit contracts as well as undertaking specific value for money reviews.

Stuart is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, a Certified Information Systems Auditor, a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association and a fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Stuart is responsible for the delivery of support service which will include:

• audit planning;
• risk assessments
• report review and quality control; and
• attendance at Audit Committee.

Bethan joined PwC over five years ago and is an ACA qualified accountant. Bethan currently works on a number of our other Internal audit clients including Finance Wales plc, North Glamorgan NHS Trust, the Welsh Language Board, and Ystrad Mynach FE College.

Bethan is also the audit manager for external audit services provided to Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and Anglesey Local Health Board.

Bethan is a fluent Welsh language speaker and is a first class honours graduate from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.

Bethan is the team leader responsible for the day to day management of the audit which includes:

• liaison with management and staff;
• development of individual audit programmes;
• day to day management of audit team;
• review of audit file;
• finalising reports; and
• reporting to the Senior Manager and Director on audit progress.
