Yr Athro Patrick Sims-Williams

Yn ddiweddar, cwblhaodd Yr Athro Sims-Williams gyfrol ar ddylanwad Gwyddeleg ar lenyddiaeth Gymraeg ganoloesol ac fe’i cyhoeddir gan Wasg Prifysgol Rhydychen yn 2010. Y mae hefyd yn ymchwilio i ieithoedd Celtaidd cynnar, gan gynnwys Hen Wyddeleg, Hen Gymraeg a Chymraeg Canol, a’r ieithoedd Celtaidd Cyfandirol hynafol.  Cyhoeddodd astudiaeth ddwy gyfrol o arysgrifau Rhufeinig sy’n cynnwys enwau personol ar y cyd â  Marilynne E. Raybould (2007, 2009),  ac y mae ar hyn o bryd yn ysgrifennu sylwebaeth ieithyddol ar gyfer y drydedd gyfrol – a’r olaf - A Corpus of Early Medieval Inscribed Stones and Stone Sculpture in Wales (2007- ). Yn 2009 traddododd ddarlith John V. Kelleher ym Mhrifysgol Harvard ar ‘How our understanding of early Irish literature has progressed’. Ef yw golygydd y Cambrian Medieval Celtic Studies  er 1981. Mae’n Gymrawd yn yr Academi Brydeinig ac yn cyfarwyddo prosiect ymchwil yr Academi ar 'Ddatblygiad yr Iaith Gymraeg'.
