Brief description

The Internet has brought the ability to publish within the reach of practically everyone and every institution. Libraries, at the information hub, find themselves ideally positioned to manage corporate Web sites as well as their own pages of information. As publishers, libraries must recognise the responsibilities that they take on. This module examines what is meant by electronic publishing and the means by which it can be successfully achieved, before moving on to the actual development of Web pages. It will show the need for quality in, and evaluation of, electronic resources and then go on to explain how to produce and maintain good-quality Internet resources.
