Working in Assessment will be made upon the basis of the following criteria: - Conception: relevance, integrity, rigour, originality and creativity of ideas. - Realisation: appropriateness of methodology, practical ability. - Presentation: relevance, imagination and sophistication of delivery. - Group Management: effective organisation, involvement and procedure. groups of approximately 5, students conceive, realise and present a fragment of scenography in performance within parameters determined by the course tutors. | 70% |
Semester Assessment | Critical Analysis Assessment will be made upon the basis of the following criteria: -Critical analysis of the function of the elements of scenography studied in the module and manifested within the group assignment. - An understanding of the holistic employment of the various scenographic elements. - Clarity and appropriateness of exposition. - Effective articulation of the concepts engaged and applied through the assignment. Oral presentation, supported by relevant material, followed by questions from the course tutor. | 30% |
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
1. Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of the function and possibility of identifying primary scenographic elements.
2. Apply and inter-relate primary scenographic elements in the generation of a fragment of scenography in performance.
3. Manifest a particular understanding of, and facility with, the skills and practical methodologies pertaining to two primary elements of scenographic composition.
4. Critically evaluate the source, development and function of two primary scenographic elements within a fragment of scenography in performance.
