Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this module, students should be able to:

Aims

This new elective module is introduced in response to the recommendation of the recent Internal Review suggesting a greater focus on student-centred learning. This module will be compulsory for Single Honours (L100) students, and N310 Business Finance, and optional for other schemes. It allows consolidation of economics and related skills in the framework of in-depth study of a topic selected by the student under the guidance of members of academic staff. Support will also be provided through introductory lectures on project management.

Brief description

The independent research project provides the opportunity for in-depth investigation of an appropriate topic and further develops independent study skills. The report also provides an opportunity to specialize in a particular aspect of the economics and related disciplines.
