Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
1. Discuss the position, role and function of the major organs within the body
2. Discuss the differences in the anatomy and physiology of horses (eg gender differences, breed differences, age-dependent differences).
Brief description
The module will consider the anatomy and physiology of equids, with the emphasis being placed on the horse. This will involve looking at the different organs and structures, their relative positions and their inter-related physiology. In addition, where relevant, comparisons with the anatomy and physiology of other herbivores will be made, thereby enhancing the understanding of the anatomy and physiology of animals in general.
