Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this module students should be able to:

* Work successfully in a team environment on complex projects;

* Successfully apply marketing theory to marketing issues in order to resolve them;

* Communicate areas of marketing theory and practice to a business audience in a professional manner;

* Analyse market data and resolve complex marketing problems;

* Manage complex marketing projects to deadlines.

Aims

This module introduces students to a real life marketing situation at the beginning of their University career. Working in teams they will gain a set of employability skills and understanding of marketing as a business discipline.

Brief description

Theory learned in the lectures (and those of MM10120) will be applied through teamwork to create and launch a product. Each team is competing to 'win the client's business' - which in reality is the module prize.

8 - Tv/Radio and other media
9 - Budgets and Control
10 - Presentation Skills

Client Meetings

There will be 5 client meetings where the team will meet with the client (Julie McKeown) to ask more questions and show work in progress. These will be around 30 minutes each and must be attended by all team members to get the full marks.

Assessment

This is a team presentation to the client and otheres where each 'agency' team 'pitches' for the work. The winning team win the module prize.
