Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module students should be able to:
1. Identify and evaluate a range of issues affecting the management of the countryside of Wales
2. Identify and evaluate the policy and management approaches taken by land management agencies towards the management of countryside capital
3. Critically assess the practices of a range of management agencies (dependent on scheme of study)
Brief description
This 10 credit module will be based upon a combination of day trips to countryside sites in Wales and workshop sessions to allow in depth study of the issues associated with the management of countryside capital and to evaluate the policies and management methods used. The visits will be integrative and cover the whole spectrum of countryside management from conservation to recreation. The study tour will be based in Aberystwyth and will occur in the week before term starts in September. The module will be credited to semester 1
