Gary Reed yw Cyfarwyddwr Ymchwil, Busnes ac Arloesi ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth. Mae’n rheoli tîm o tua 35 sy’n cwmpasu; cefnogi a datblygu ymchwil, datblygu busnes a throsglwyddo technoleg, rheolaeth o brosiectau sylweddol AB&Y a sicrwydd ansawdd, FfRhY a monitro ymchwil. Mae’r tîm hefyd yn gweithio’n agos gyda Grantiau Ymchwil a leolwyd yn yr adran ac yn atebol i’r Cyfarwyddwr Ariannol

Mae Gary yn adrodd i’r Dirprwy Is-Ganghellor, Ymchwil a Sicrwydd Ansawdd ac yn gweithio gyda’r Pwyllgor Ymchwil i weithredu Strategaeth Ymchwil y Brifysgol gan weithio’n agos a’r adrannau academaidd ac adrannau gwasanaethol eraill.

Fel rhan o'i gylch gorchwyl, mae Gary hefyd yn:

  • Gary oedd Cadeirydd Rhwydwaith Swyddogion Cyswllt Swyddfa Ymchwil Cymru (WROLOS) 2011-12 ac ef yw Cynrychiolydd Aberystwyth ar Grŵp Gweithredol, Grŵp Prifysgolion Gwyl Dewi Sant (Aberystwyth, Bangor, Caerdydd, Morgannwg ac Abertawe).

Ar hyn o bryd, Cyfarwyddwr Ymchwil, Busnes ac Arloesi, a hefyd ar secondiad i'r Sefydliad Arweinyddiaeth ar gyfer Addysg Uwch fel Cyfarwyddwr Cynorthwyol, (Aelodaeth), Cymru.

Cyn fy swyddi presennol, roeddwn yn academydd rheolaeth ym Mhrifysgol Loughborough am 10 mlynedd gyda rolau yn cynnwys: Cyfarwyddwr Ymchwil ar gyfer Canolfan Rheolaeth Moduron a Chyfarwyddwr Rhaglen ar gyfer y MSc a Diploma mewn Rheolaeth Moduron. Profiad blaenorol yn cynnwys: gwerthu systemau telathrebu, athro cymwysedig ysgol uwchradd, darlithydd Coleg Addysg Bellach, a phrofiad manwerthu.

Swyddi eraill: aelod gwahoddedig o’r  Leadership Foundation Membership Advisory Group; ac arholwr allanol Prifysgol Loughborough, Ysgol Busnes ac Economeg.

Rheolaeth Prosiect: Ym Mhrifysgol Loughborough roeddwn yn  cyd-awduro, cyllidebu, a rheoli dros £1.5M o geisiadau grant llwyddiannus gan gynghorau ymchwil a diwydiant. Yn Aberystwyth rwy’n gyfrifol am oddeutu £80M o grantiau ymchwil ac arloesi presennol  a thua £21 o incwm ymchwil blynyddol. Mae fy mhrofiad o reoli prosiectau yn cynnwys brosiectau blaenllaw a gwerth o oddeutu £70M e.e. ariannodd HEFCW Bartneriaeth Ymchwil ac Arloesi rhwng Brifysgolion Aberystwyth a Bangor gwerth £11M, a ragorodd holl dargedau a disgwyliadau.

Datblygu pobol: heblaw am fod yn athro ac academydd, mae gen i ddiddordeb mawr mewn datblygu ymchwilwyr, mae hyn yn golygu tri cais llwyddiannus ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth am Wobr Rhagoriaeth AD mewn Ymchwil Ewropeaidd. Hefyd fi yw Hyrwyddwr Prifysgol Aberystwyth i Crwsibl Cymru  (http://www.welshcrucible.org.uk/cymraeg/)  gan gymryd rôl gweithredol mewn datblygu a chyflwyno'r rhaglen yma.
