Enillodd Jo radd BA (Anrh) mewn Addysg Gorfforol ac Astudiaethau Addysg ym Mhrifysgol Cymru, Bangor, yn 1990 cyn gwneud cwrs TAR (yn y Coleg Normal, Bangor) a PhD mewn Seicoleg Ddatblygol Chwaraeon, hefyd ym Mhrifysgol Cymru, Bangor. Mae hi'n un o Seicolegwyr Siartredig Cymdeithas Seicoleg Prydain (y BPS) ac yn aelod llawn o'r Sefydliad Dysgu ac Addysgu. Mae Jo'n dysgu gwyddor chwaraeon ac ymarfer corff ers 1996 ac wedi bod yn ymgynghorydd seicoleg chwaraeon i fabolgampwyr mewn amrywiaeth o gampau, gan gynnwys rhai o safon ryngwladol. Yn ddiweddar, mae hi wedi cydolygu llyfr ar ymdopi ag emosiwn mewn chwaraeon, a gyhoeddwyd gan Nova Science Publishers.Ymchwil
