At Aberystwyth we recognise that choosing a university is about more than just a great education, it's about finding your home away from home.
There is nowhere quite like Aberystwyth: no other University which offers the unique combination of long academic tradition; outstandingly beautiful location, beneath the mountains and beside the sea; a centre of national and regional, cultural and commercial, importance; a campus combining one of only six copyright libraries in Britain with a Beacon status Arts Centre and state-of-the-art facilities.
We are located in the centre of the beautiful Cardigan Bay, with the Irish Sea to the west and the Cambrian Mountains to the east, so we have the seaside as well as unspoilt mountainous countryside to enjoy. Our town is friendly and welcoming, with a great mix of people, as well as a great mix of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and clubs. The beach is a great place to relax and enjoy the view, especially our renowned sunsets, and if you're lucky you may spot a bottlenose dolphin or porpoise. There are several sites of special scientific interest in the area, and you'll regularly see Red Kites flying over the campuses.
MSN Travel have voted Aberystwyth as the best University Town or City in Wales and 8th in the UK. It's also the safest place in England and Wales (Daily Mail's Complete University Guide 2015).
