Investing in Quality

To cater for the increasing demand from students for places in Residences, the University has developed a complex of modern, high quality residential accommodation. In recent years Aberystwyth University has invested over £24 million in new student residences, we are thus able to guarantee a place in University-owned and managed accommodation to all first year students provided that accommodation applications are received before 1st August. Our investment enables us to accommodate students in attractive, neighbourly and environmentally sensitive communities.

Applying for Accommodation in Residences

The Accommodation Office administers a central online system for applications to the Residences and University Managed Properties.

First year students the accommodation office will automatically send out a letter in late March inviting applicants to apply online for University Residences after April 1st upon receipt of confirmation that you are holding Aberystwyth University as your firm or insurance choice. Guaranteed first year accommodation if you apply before the 1st August.

Returning students The online application system will be available late November/ early December to apply for Residences. Notification of the exact time and date that the applications open will be posted on the weekly email to students. See also arrangements for students taking a year out.

All students are asked to respond immediately to any offer of accommodation; this ensures all student applications are processed as speedily and efficiently as possible. Every effort will be made to house students in their first choices of Residence but obviously it will not be possible to meet these preferences in every case.
