Course Design

To successfully complete the course you have to take 12 'taught' modules (worth 10 credits each) followed by a dissertation worth 60 credits. The modules are supported by material - including questions, reading lists and tasks - provided via blackboard. We also encourage our students to get in touch with tutors to support them both in terms of more generic research skills and the content of the course. Study Schools, which we hold at least once a year, are a great way to connect with fellow students and get to know us as well as the on-campus LLM cohorts.

The taught part of each course can be completed in a minimum of two years with a further one year to complete a dissertation. The maximum time allowed to complete the entire course is five years. However, there is flexibility to allow you to lengthen the period of study in special circumstances.
