Lecturer in Fine Art awarded an Arts Council Wales Major Creative Wales Award 2012
Miranda Whall, lecturer in Fine Art has been awarded an Arts Council Wales Major Creative Wales Award 2012 and so will be taking a years research leave from the School of Art beginning Sept 2012.
Miranda currently has a Garfield Weston Artist in Residency at the Arts Centre Aberystwyth which will be followed by a month in Istanbul as Artist in Residence at Maumau in the lively Cukurcma district from Sept - Oct, she will then be Artist in Residence with the Ondarte International residency programme in Akumal on the Mayan River between the Caribean Sea and the Yal Ku Lagoon, Southern Mexico followed by 8 months in Europe.
Whall will be developing the 'Quests' an umbrella title for a series of audio, video and text projects which will be a touring show (tbc) with its first showing as an ambitious multi screen video installation in the launch programme for the new Institute of Interdisciplinary Contemporary Art (ICIA) in Bath in Autumn 2014.
So far Whall has developed 3 'Quests' projects in Franche sur la Mer, Southern France, Andelucia Spain and West Wales.
