School of Art masters student, Peter Moynihan, included in major national art exhibition

Painting by Peter Moynihan. Two works by Peter Moynihan have been selected from almost 700 entries to appear alongside paintings by some of Britain's leading watercolour artists. The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours' 199th annual exhibition shows at the Mall Galleries near Trafalgar Square between 30 March and 10 April 2011.

The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours is one of the oldest societies of professional watercolour painters. The aims of the society are to promote painting in watercolours, encourage the use and development of water based mediums, and to present the work of its best exponents in its annual exhibitions. The RI is based in London but its members come from all over the UK and beyond.

The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours hold an open student submission exhibition in central London each year. Founded in the mid 19th century, the Institute has come to be recognised as one of the leading national institutions for watercolour painters, spanning figurative, abstract and experimental work.
