About the Beta Web Site

This autumn work has been underway on a new design for the Aberystwyth University web site. The objectives of the redesign are,

• to make the web site easier to use,
• to refresh the look of the web site,
• to speed up the web site and
• to build a flexible web site that works on a variety of devices.

A beta version of the new web site design is now available for staff and students to try out. Please take a look at the site and fill out the questionnaire (linked to from this page and from every Beta page). We'd like to know what you think about the way the new site is structured and your first impressions.

The information on the Beta site is a snap-shot of the main web site as it was on Monday 5th December. Some parts of the Beta Site won’t work because they are web applications and haven’t yet been incorporated into the new design (e.g. search engine, prospectus ordering). Work will continue on the Beta Site during December and early January so you may see minor changes if you visit more than once.

If you're a web page author you'll be pleased to know that, with the exception of the homepage, most web content on the Beta site remains unchanged. Also the new design doesn't change the way web pages are created in the Content Management System.
