'Composing Contemporary Music' - book launch
15 June 2011

Pwyll ap Siôn and Gareth Bonello launch Composing Contemporary Music at Wales Millennium Centre
On Monday, 13th of June, a volume was launched for students studying Music at AS and A Level – Composing Contemporary Music... A Student’s Guide – at Wales Millennium Centre. The book’s authors are the two well-known musicians, Pwyll ap Siôn and Iwan Llewelyn-Jones.
Pwyll ap Siôn and Gareth Bonello (The Gentle Good) took part in the event. Both gave a talk on their work as musicians, and about composing techniques – and they also performed their work during the launch. The event was sponsored by Literature Wales, and representatives from the Welsh Government, WJEC and some of Wales’ comprehensive schools were present.
Composing Contemporary Music... A Student’s Guide is a handbook to help students with their composing work for Music at AS and A Level. A CD with listening examples also accompanies the handbook, and a Welsh and English version of the publication is available.
