Launching 'Cyfres y Fflam' at Parc y Scarlets
23 July 2012

On Wednesday, 11th of July, CAA launched a series of books for secondary schools – Cyfres y Fflam – at Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli.
Catrin Stevens and Tudur Dylan Jones, two of the series' authors, spoke about their books and organised various activities with Year 7 pupils from Ysgol Gyfun Maes yr Yrfa. Guests were then guided by Dafydd Jones, the retired Scarlets and Wales rugby player, on a tour of the stadium.
Cyfres y Fflam is a series of twenty books for secondary schools. The books look at various subjects from two directions – factual and fiction – and it’s foreseen that schools will use the texts to collect information and to compare texts and styles.
Lynwen Rees Jones, Director of the Centre for Educations Studies said:
“As the Centre for Educational Studies is celebrating 30 years since it was established this year, we felt that it would be a great opportunity to organise a book launch in an exciting and popular location such as Parc y Scarlets. It was also a great opportunity for CAA to display their varied publications, and especially to draw attention to the new Cyfres y Fflam books.”
An item on this event was broadcasted on 'Heno' (S4C).
