Plans for 1000 new bedrooms for 2014

Campus Services is looking forward eagerly to realising a major residential development in 2014. The University is currently progressing tender evaluation from bidders keen to develop 1000 new en-suite bedrooms and associated service facilities for students including learning centres, meeting facilities, catering outlets, outdoor recreational areas and a residences administrative centre. The development is intended for the Penglais Farm site, a University owned location adjacent to its main Penglais campus and existing accommodation complexes. Jim Wallace, Director of Campus Services, said ‘the University prides itself on its residential experience, and this exciting new addition will ensure that we have both increased numbers of en-suite facilities and studio flats to meet the wide range of expectations from our students going forward, on a beautiful site within walking distance of our main campus’.
