AberForward Graduate Scheme

As a recent graduate, we really hope everything is going well for you. But, if you’re needing that bit of extra experience to help get your graduate career started, the AberForward Graduate Scheme could really help.

The Graduate Scheme is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates who have been unemployed since graduation, or who are feeling under-employed, to return to Aber to undertake meaningful work experience and career development training, refresh their job search skills and regain their confidence in their ability to secure graduate level employment.

The focus of the Scheme is on developing the self-awareness and evidence of your professional skills that are needed to prove your employability and succeed in the competitive graduate job market.

During your 4-week placement, you’ll receive regular support from a named supervisor and you’ll be given clear tasks that will enable you to set personal and work goals for the placement and, at the end placement, to demonstrate everything you’ve achieved.

Most importantly you’ll be applying your skills in a professional work environment, providing context and evidence to demonstrate to future employers what you can do.

The University is busy all year round which creates a variety of quality work experience placement opportunities in both academic and service departments for participants on the Graduate Scheme.
