Responsibilities

James Hudson is the University's Technology Transfer Manager and coordinates the Technology Transfer team within CCS.  His primary responsibilities relate to the management of the University's Intellectual Property portfolio including:

  • advising staff on Intellectual Property matters
  • working with University academics to identify projects with commercial potential 
  • assessing and protecting Intellectual Property arising from research activity
  • identifying potential commercialisation routes and milestones for projects
  • brokering discussions with external parties interested in licensing opportunities arising from Aberystwyth's IP portfolio
  • negotiating and managing contracts related to intellectual property and research

 

Biography

Prior to joining Aberystwyth James worked at Imperial Innovations in a Technology Transfer role.  James holds a degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Biochemistry.
