Responsibilities

Rhian works with James Hudson to protect and commercialise the University’s Intellectual Property. In particular, Rhian’s responsibilities also extend to:

  • identifying and protecting new Intellectual Property throughout the University
  • developing the University’s inward and outward facing Marketing strategies for Technology Transfer
  • identifying new commercial licensees for University technologies and brokering deals

Biography

Prior to joining CCS Rhian founded Rhian Hayward Consulting Ltd, advising investors, universities and SMEs on the commercialisation of early stage life science technologies. Her experience in technology development and particularly high throughput proteomics technologies comes from 10 years experience in various commercial roles within the biotechnology industry. Companies that Rhian has worked at include Sense Proteomic Ltd, Procognia Ltd and Abcam plc. Rhian gained her DPhil at the University of Oxford and carried out postdoctoral research at the Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases, NIH, U.S.A. She has a BSc. (first class) from King’s College, London.
