Founder and Owner, Hawksdrift Falconry

Layla BennettHawksdrift Falconry is a birds of prey business which provides pest control, falconry displays and offers a gift delivery service using birds. Layla successfully secured a £50k investment in the BBC’s Dragon’s Den in 2010 and was winner of ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the Powys Business Awards 2009.

Terry Crump

Inventor, Crazy 18 Golf

Crazy 18 Golf, a portable crazy golf game, was designed and established by Terry in 2004.Terry invented  the golf game after watching his son create obstacles on a polyester camping mat while practising his putting skills. Crazy 18 Golf has been endorsed by Young Masters Golf Academies and is also represented in professional golf shops.

 


Ben Giles

Managing Director, Ultima Cleaning Ltd. 

 

Ben left school at 16 to start a window-cleaning round and has since set up successful and highly innovative businesses such as Ultima Cleaning Ltd. Ben progressed this further and established The National Academy of Crime Scene Cleaners, a Professional Accredited business that specialises in the cleaning of crime scenes and offers training services for the biohazard restoration industry in the UK. Ben has been appointed as Business Entrepreneur Champion to the Welsh Government

Tony Orme, Enterprise Manager Tony Orme is the Enterprise Manager at Aberystwyth University and is responsible for coordinating a range of enterprise activities for students, graduates and staff including the Crisalis Enterprise Club, and Business Start-Up Week.

Julian Smyth

Director, Development and Alumni Relations, Aberystwyth University

Julian has held the positions of Development Director at Linacre College, Oxford, Chief Executive of LandAid, Director of the Bradfield Foundation and Director of the Sherborne School Foundation.  A graduate of Nottingham University, prior to joining Aber he was Principal Consultant at ASK Associates, an educational development consultancy.
