Supporting Spin-out Companies

Aberystwyth University works in partnership with Finance Wales’ Early Stage Development Fund to offer spinout support to new businesses 'Spinning' into (or 'Spinning' out from) academic departments of the University. There are a number of elements to Spinout support, as follows

• An interest bearing loan of up to £25,000, repaid over a 60 month period.
• Additional loan and/or equity funding from Finance Wales, depending upon the funding reqirements of the new business.
• Grant funding towards Market Research and Specialist Technical Consultancy (including business planning consultancy; market research work; legal fees and accountancy support). This is agreed by Finance Wales in Cardiff and is dependent on the likelihood of the business wanting access to loan funding.
