Intellectual Property Evaluation and Advice
CCS provides a range of services relating to the management of the University’s Intellectual Property (IP).
Across the University there is a wealth of IP: patents, copyright, design rights, database rights, plant breeding rights, and plenty of know-how created via research and other academic activity. Much of this IP may have commercial potential as new products or services and it is the role of the Technology Transfer team to spot this potential and progress it to market.
Commercialising your ideas
Do you have a novel method, microbe or marker of disease? Have you had an innovative idea, developed an instrument or do you have a different way of doing things in your research field? If so, then you may have Intellectual Property that we can help to protect and commercialise. To explore the commercial potential of your work, contact the Technology Transfer team before any public disclosure is made.
Next Steps
Technology Transfer staff are available to guide and support colleagues through Aberystwyth University's Technology Transfer Process. In addition to scouting for new ideas, CCS are best placed to advise on possible sources of funding targeted at progressing early stage projects with commercial potential.
For an informal and confidential one-to-one discussion relating to your work, please contact Dr James Hudson / Dr Rhian Hayward to arrange a meeting.
