Awards

The University offers a number of awards for excellence in teaching and supporting student learning.

These awards are available for a limited period each academic year.

It is recommended that you consult with CDSAP, who can advise on which award seems most appropriate to your needs and will also be happy to work with you in formulating bids.

Academic Excellence

Aberystwyth University Learning & Teaching Fellowship

The aims of this scheme are to:

  1. Raise the profile of teaching or support for learning at the University;
  2. Recognise and reward individual excellence in teaching or support for learning;
  3. Recognise and celebrate individuals who make an outstanding impact on the student learning experience;
  4. Recognise the individual’s local and wider influence on the teaching, or learning support practice of others;
  5. Provide a route to the National Teaching Fellowship Scheme (NTFS).

Normally, five individual awards of £1,200 will be made each year.  Additional awards may be made in any year, if funding permits.

Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award

The purpose of the teaching awards scheme is:

  1. To recognise and reward individual postgraduate teachers for their contribution to the quality of the learning experience in AU
  2. To publicise the University’s commitment to teaching excellence.

Three awards of £200 each to be made annually.
