Biography

Biography

Dr. George Petropoulos is a Senior Lecturer in Remote Sensing & GIS in the Department of Geography & Earth Sciences (DGES) at Aberystwyth University, UK. He received his PhD in 2008 from the University of London, UK. His research focuses on exploiting EO data alone or synergistically with land surface process models for computing key state variables of the Earth's energy and water budget. He is also conducting research on the use of EO in land cover mapping and on quantifying its changes occurred due to either anthropogenic activities or natural hazards. He is author/co-author of +40 peer-reviewed journal articles, +80 international conferences and of +12 book chapters, and editor of a book published by Taylor & Francis.
