Open Door Session

Open Door Sessions

1. 'Welcome to your distance learning course'. (1.15 hr)
This is an an introduction with distance learners visiting Aberystwyth for the first time. It will give you a change to explore the use of activities & interaction with large lecture groups of students who do not know each other. It will also give you an opportunity to meet these informational professionals from around the world who study with us by distance learning and to get an insight into what concerns and aspirations they might have in common.
[These 'Aber visits' happen three times a year. For next session please contact Tanya tar@aber.ac.uk]

2. 'What do we do with a distance learner? Some ways to design learning to support distance learner needs.' (30min)
This is an occasional drop-in surgery. You will have the opportunity to explore examples of distance learning & teaching, including the use of media, online forums, e-moderating, ...etc. It might help you to identify learner needs, design learning content, and think about how you can deliver your distance learning course or service.
[Occasional: contact Tanya tar@aber.ac.uk]
