Welcome
Welcome to the Centre for European Studies (CES), a cross-departmental and multi-disciplinary research-led learning centre focusing on the study of further European integration and Europe’s relations with the outside world.
Participating in the CES is a choice for anyone who wishes to expand their knowledge on European integration and Europe’s relations, as a new transformative power, with the outside world. The CES was originally founded in 1996 and in 2000 became the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence after receiving official recognition by the European Union. The Jean Monnet Centre was the only such Centre in Wales, and one of a select few in the UK. In 2010, with support from the Learning and Teaching Strategy Implementation Fund, it was decided to restructure the CES and re-launch it as a cross-departmental and multi-disciplinary research-based teaching centre.
If you are interested in enhancing your professional qualifications and expanding your knowledge and experience of all issues European in a supportive and encouraging educational environment, then the Centre for European Studies is the place for you!
In these web pages you will hopefully find all the answers to your questions about following or participating in the CES in Aberystwyth, but if there is anything else you want to know then do not hesitate to contact us on europeanstudies@aber.ac.uk or use the contact form.
