New Senior Lecturer Joins Department

Dr Thomas Jansen has been appointed to Senior Lecturer with effect from 1 January 2013. Thomas' research areas are randomised search heuristics, in particular evolutionary algorithms and artificial immune systems. He concentrates on the theoretical analysis of such randomised search heuristics to improve our understanding of their working principles to guide in their design and application. He is associate editor of the MIT Press journal Evolutionary Computation.
