Undergraduate Courses (BA)
We have an exceptional reputation for quality teaching and maintain high academic standards on courses that are challenging, relevant and practical. In the most recent National Student Survey (NSS), our students rated us at 100% for our teaching.
We are a research-led teaching department which means that you will be taught by experts on courses which are grounded in the most up-to-date research and publications.
The breadth of experience of our staff means that we can offer a wide range of engaging courses that will also prepare you for a rewarding career. Our choice of courses spans everything from medieval literature and creative writing to Welsh in the workplace, translation and adaptation, contemporary poetry and fiction, literary criticism, women’s writing, and folk literature. We also specialise in other Celtic languages: Breton, Irish, and Scottish Gaelic.
Along with these single honours study schemes the Department also offers a number of different degree schemes which combine Welsh with a number of academic and vocational subjects.
The most recent student survey results show that our student satisfaction levels stand at 100%, and so every year many of our graduates choose to stay with us to study for a higher degree (MA, MPhil or PhD).
