Irish Language and Literature Joint Honours
If you wish to concentrate on Irish as a part of your study scheme you can choose to study Irish Language and Literature as a joint honours degree. It is a four year course and you will normally spend a year at university in Ireland (students from Ireland may be excused from this). There are a numerous subjects on offer as a joint honours study scheme with Irish Language and Literature.
Part 1
You should study at least 40 credits from Irish modules, along with up to 40 Level 1 credits in a completely different subject/subjects of your choice. The remaining credits needed to complete Part 1, if you are hoping to gain a joint honours degree in Irish Language and Literature and History (for example) should be chosen from History modules.
Part 2
For a Joint Honours Degree in Irish Language and Literature and another subject it is expected that you take 120 credits from the Level 2 and 3 modules listed.
