Information for current students

The University is more than an academic institution, of course. It is a tight-knit community of staff and students from a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities. In its determination to meet the personal needs of its students, Aberystwyth University provides a range of excellent facilities, accommodation (guaranteed to first year students) and centres for social life, culture, and recreational activities. It also has support systems in fields such as health, welfare, counselling and careers support for school-leavers, mature students, domestic and international students, and those with special requirements. Personal Tutors

Your personal tutor will be noted on your student record. As part of the Welsh and Celtic Studies Department’s pastoral provision each student will be assigned a Tutor from amongst the Department’s staff.  Students will normally have the same Tutor throughout their undergraduate careers, unless they submit a request to the Head of Department to change Tutor. Your Tutor will ask you to come see him/her at least once a semester, usually during the first weeks of the semester. In addition, Tutors will designate an hour (or more) per week when they will be free to meet students without prior notice.
