Dr T Robin Chapman
Robin Chapman is currently working on a volume of 160,000 words on the history of Welsh literature c. 1740-2005 for the Oxford Literary History of Wales series. According to the editor, Dr. Damian Walford Davies, this series will “challenge orthodoxy and offer alternative literary histories, so that essential new portraits of literary output and social, cultural and political contexts may develop.” The focus of Robin Chapman’s work will be the way that the evolution of different types of readers has determined the direction of Welsh literature during this specific period.
In April 2010, Robin Chapman will be guest lecturer for the Sir Thomas Parry-Williams Memorial Lecture at the University of Wales Centre for Advance Welsh and Celtic Studies, Aberystwyth. (‘Damhegion, distawrwydd a “dychrynodau”: rhethreg ysgrifau T.H.Parry-Williams’.)
