Entrance Scholarships

Aberystwyth University has a number of scholarships and prizes for those intending to apply for a place at the university. The next examinations will be held in February 2010.

Scholarships include the Evan Morgan Scholarship, Open Scholarships and a number of lesser scholarships and awards which offer the successful candidates many advantages whilst at university, including up to £3,600 over 3 years, an unconditional offer and surety of a place in a university hall of residence during the period of study.

Candidates who achieve a certain standard in both scholarship papers may be awarded a Merit Award worth £1000 and an unconditional offer.

Excellence Bursaries

These bursaries are available to students pursuing single and joint honours and major programmes in the Sciences, European Languages, Welsh and defined Welsh medium schemes. They are valued at £2,000 (£1,400 for HND/FDs) fir the normal duration of the course.

Conditions

a) You must have accepted the offer of a place to study at Aberystwyth by the end of June of the year of entry.
b) The bursary is payable in annual payments depending upon successful academic progression.
c) No previous experience of Higher Education.
