What do you remember most about your time at Aber?

I lived in Plynlymon Hall on the seafront in Victoria Terrace, The storms were spectacular, the friendships forged then are still with me now.  A special place.  It is beautiful for students, visitors, anyone.

What are you doing now career-wise and how has your Aberystwyth Degree helped?

I had a degree in history and politics, for 14 years I was a Labour Councillor in Barking and Dagenham, and the political experience then, and the study at Aber, set me up for life.  My confidence was boosted enormously by all this and today I have my own business in Real Estate here.  I have also developed an interest in journalism and blogging, my blog site: abritinbulgaria.blogspot.com is the number one English language blog about Bulgaria.

What advice would you have for a student doing your course now?

Think hard about what you want to achieve, but also what you enjoy and what you are interested in.  Follow your dreams!
