The Development Advisory Board
The Development Advisory Board is a body of senior volunteers who provide support, advice and networking skills to the University. Its remit ranges from commenting on the University's strategic plans to assisting in the improvement of alumni services (especially in terms of career support for our recent graduates and opening up commercial partnership opportunities) and to championing philanthropic support for Aber.

Myra Kinghorn (Chair)
Myra Kinghorn BLib FCA CDir has a wide range of experience working as an executive and non executive director. Following thirteen years in the accountancy profession, she was the first Chief Executive of the Pension Protection Fund and was also Chief Executive of the Investors Compensation Scheme. Myra is currently Chair of the Scheme Management Committee (an independent committee of the European Payments Council), a member of the Architects Registration Board and is also a Governor of Morley College.
Mick Buckley
Mick Buckley is former President and CEO of CNBC, EMEA. Prior to joining CNBC, Mick spent eight years at Turner Broadcasting Systems Europe, where he was Executive VP of TBS News Networks and UK Managing Director. In 2002 he completed the “Advanced Management Programme” at Harvard Business School. He graduated from Aber with a BSc Honours degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the ITU telecom board.

Henrietta is the former Head of the Legal team for Capital Markets at Swiss Re. She was previously Managing Director, Legal Services at Dresdner Kleinwort.
Nicholas Eldred
Nicholas Eldred is the General Counsel for Christies and was formerly Group General Counsel and Secretary of the BBC, a non-executive director of BBC Worldwide, and a Trustee of BBC Children In Need.

A Board-level executive at private and publicly-quoted restaurant groups in the UK, USA and Europe. Currently Managing Director for UK and Ireland for the Autogrill Group, Milan.
Peter Jones
Peter T Jones is involved in freelance delivery of the low carbon waste infrastructure having Chaired a Planning Advisory Group for Advantage West Midlands. He qualified as an Industrial Economist in 1969 , holds an Honorary Degree from the University of Southampton for work associated with Environmental Technologies and is a Member or Fellow of CIM , CIWEM, CIWM, and CILT. He advises a wide range of blue chips with regard to distributed energy from waste and chairs the WRAP sponsored Gas to Grid Group.
Kathryn Ludlow
Kathryn is a Partner at Linklaters in the Litigation Department. She has experience in a wide range of commercial disputes, with an emphasis on professional negligence and financial services. She has particular experience in representing accountancy firms
Huw Morgan
Former Head of Business Banking, HSBC Bank plc. Huw has worked for HSBC for the majority of his working life. He was most recently responsible for Business Banking and Franchising for the UK . He became a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Banking in 2004.

A partner at Allen & Overy, Robert represents companies or their investment banks on offerings of equity, debt and hybrid securities in the U.S. and international capital markets.
Peter Bevan
Peter Bevan obtained his LLM(Hons) at Aberystwyth and qualified as a Solicitor in 1969. Shortly afterwards he joined BP where he spent the whole of his professional career, becoming Group General Counsel and Executive Vice President and retiring in 2008.
Malcolm Butler
Dr. Butler trained as a geologist and worked for over 25 years as an explorationist and senior executive in the worldwide oil and gas business. In 1998 he joined HSBC Investment Bank as Advisory Director and took over responsibility for oil & gas corporate finance advisory work. Since 2003 he has acted as senior adviser to Seymour Pierce Limited. From 2007 he has been an adviser to Ironsides Partners. He is also an advisor to the Pacific Alliance Group, a Hong Kong based private equity group, President of Waterloo Oil & Gas, LLC, an oil and gas exploration and production company working in Louisiana, and Chairman of two small EIS-based oil exploration companies working in the UK.

Lynton Jones
Lynton Jones graduated from the InterPol department in 1967 and joined the Diplomatic Service the following year. In addition to the Foreign Office, he worked in embassies in Zambia, Thailand (during the Vietnam War) and Paris. After Paris he moved into the financial services sector and became Director of Public Affairs at the London Stock Exchange. He then became successively Chief Executive of Nasdaq International, the OMLondon Securities and Derivatives Exchange and the International Petroleum Exchange. In 2002 he created and became chairman of Bourse Consult (www.bourse-consult.com).
Alexander Keepin
Alexander graduated in 1995 having studied law at Aberystwyth. Alexander trained in the City and is a Partner and Head of Mining in Berwin Leighton Paisner's corporate finance group. He previously spent over 10 years at Charles Russell. Alexander’s practice is particularly international and includes a wealth of experience in advising on listings by Energy and Natural Resources companies. He also has considerable experience in corporate finance including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and takeovers, including reverse takeovers. Alexander lives in Kent with his wife (an Aberystwyth history graduate) and two children.
Ian MacEachern
Ian read pure mathematics (BSc) and numerical analysis (MSc) at Aberystwyth and Dundee Universities respectively. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Manager, a Chartered IT Professional and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. After a highly successful military career, in 2007 Ian took up the appointment as Head of Business Planning at HM Land Registry with responsibility for strategic business planning and performance management. Currently, Ian is a Board member and Trustee of the Chartered Management Institute, a non executive member of Aberystwyth University Development Advisory Board and a member of the Advisory Board to the Awards Recognition Bureau.
