Julian Smyth
Director of Development & Alumni Relations

Julian has held the positions of Development Director at Linacre College, Oxford, Chief Executive of LandAid, Director of the Bradfield Foundation and Director of the Sherborne School Foundation.  A graduate of Nottingham University, prior to joining Aber he was Principal Consultant at ASK Associates, an educational development consultancy.

Louise PerkinsLouise-Perkins
Alumni Manager

Louise, who is herself an Aber alumna, joined AU a little over 14 years ago as an alumni officer. She is the first point of contact and organiser for all of the University’s alumni relations activities. Louise is also Honorary Secretary for the Old Students' Association.

Hayley Neville-Jones
Office Manager/PA to the Director

Hayley was born and educated in Aberystwyth, and joined the team in January 2010 as Office Manager/PA, sharing her time between the Development and Alumni Relations Office and the Communications and Public Affairs Office.

Ruth Fowler  
Alumni Officer

Ruth joined the team in April 2011 as a part-time Alumni Officer.  Ruth combines these duties with working in The Department of Welsh and being a Residential Tutor in Pantycelyn.  She graduated from The Department of English at Aberystwyth University in 2009.

Dr David CurrieDavid-Currie
Database Manager

David joined the Development and Alumni Relations Office in May 2009. A graduate of Pembroke College, Oxford, he was recently awarded his PhD by the Department of Computer Science at Aberystwyth.  David is responsible for managing the alumni database.

Heulwen Mainwaring
Annual Fund Officer

Heulwen joined the development and alumni team at the University in April 2010.  A native of Aber, she graduated from UCL and now is responsible for the Annual Fund and the legacy programme.

Prospect Researcher

Cheryl joined Aberystwyth University in May 2009 from Bristol University. A graduate of Bristol, Cheryl is an experienced prospect researcher, a role that involves searching for connections that will benefit the University.

Richard Marriott 
Development Officer

Richard joined the development and alumni team from Coleg Powys, an FE provider in Mid Wales, in April 2011. Richard graduated from Aberystwyth in 2007 in International Politics and is now responsible for Major Gift fundraising.
