Aberystwyth Centre for Space and Earth Monitoring

‌Who are we?

Aberystwyth Centre for Space and Earth Monitoring (ACSEM) is an interdisciplinary research centre founded in 2015 with the aim of using academic research to aid the space industry. Our vision is ‘World class research to build sustainable Welsh space services.’ ACSEM is a partnership between Aberystwyth University and Aberystwyth based SME Environment Systems Ltd.

Aberystwyth University is part of the Wales Space Academic Partnership (WASP). This partnership aims to build on pre-existing academic expertise in Space to achieve the overarching vision for Wales to achieve 5% of the UK space industry turnover by 2030 (£2 billion). This vision is part of the Welsh Space Strategy recommendations for the future direction of the space industry in Wales by Aerospace Wales, the Satellite Applications Catapult and the Welsh Government.
