Biography
A History degree from the University of Manchester may not seem the ideal start to a professional interest in information systems but two years experience in a scientific research information service followed by a Post-graduate Diploma in library and information studies made me eager to find out more. I carried out work for the Consumers’ Association and then worked for an educational research agency in London for three years. After that I worked for a national educational policy organisation in York for four years during which I studied part-time for a Post-graduate Diploma in Management. Movement through the management ranks led me to develop a keen interest in information systems as management tools. The opportunity for a career change through a jump to an academic post led me to Aberystwyth.Additional Interests
