Facilities
The Department and its students have access to:
- Excellent library facilities
- Extensive computing facilities
Students of the Department are able to take advantage of the outstanding resources available in Aberystwyth. The Thomas Parry Library on the Llanbadarn Campus was established to serve the Department from the outset and has an unparalleled collection of library and information management materials, including an extensive range of international journals. Students can also use the University's other libraries.
The University's library service has over 700,000 volumes, and subscribes to over 3,500 current periodicals, as well as networked databases and access to electronic journals and information sources.
Students also have free access to the National Library of Wales based in Aberystwyth. As one of 6 copyright libraries in the UK, it has a right to every book published in the UK and has over 6 million volumes, maps and prints.
Computing facilities at Aberystwyth University are also excellent, and there are many dedicated computer rooms on both campuses, including one in the Department. The Thomas Parry Library also provides access to University computers, as well as printing and scanning facilities. Other university computer facilities are also available to students some of which are open 24 hours a day.
