The Aberystwyth Postgraduate Research Studentship Competition makes continued study possible for several students each year.

The English Department offers a limited number of departmental studentships for Research postgraduates.

Departmental prizes will be awarded to the two outstanding MA applicants at the beginning of the academic year.  Students who  have accepted places on the MA in Literary Studies (including pathways) and the MA in Creative Writing are eligible to apply.  There are two prizes: the R S Thomas Prize (£500) and the Sarah Hall Prize (£500). Application forms for the prizes will be distributed to all MA applicants who have accepted places in the summer preceding the commencement of their MA.

The Department is usually able to assist with a small annual travel and conference grant, as well as some support with the expense of Inter-Library Loans

There are also Aberystwyth award schemes for which non-EU students can apply.
