Admission Requirements

The minimum basic entry requirement for the MA is normally an Honours Degree (Class 2 Division 1) or equivalent in English Literature, Creative Writing, or a related discipline. Applicants for the Creative Writing MA also need to submit a portfolio of recent written work in any genre (insert link to http://www.aber.ac.uk/en/english/postgrad-studies/taught-masters/creative-writing/).

Candidates who do not meet this standard will be considered on a case-by-case basis. In such circumstances, candidates will normally be interviewed as part of the application process.

Prospective MA students should ensure that they have arranged with referees for their references to be available as required.

English Language requirements: Unless we have direct evidence of your graduate-level competence in English, the Department requires that non-native English speakers take an IELTS and achieve a score of 7.0 or a TOEFL Essay Rating of 5.0.

 Deadlines for Masters Applications

We accept applications for the Masters programmes throughout the year, but please note that should you wish to be considered for certain bursaries, scholarships or grants your application might have to be in before the respective deadline.
