MA in Literary Studies

What are the key features of the course?

This programme is designed for those students who do not wish to focus their interest on one particular period.  You may be seeking an opportunity to develop further some areas on which you touched in your undergraduate programme, or to study periods or topics which you  were not able to investigate as an undergraduate.

How is the course organised?

In common with our other taught Masters' programmes, students will take two one-semester core modules, and four option modules to be chosen from a list of some eighteen ooptions covering aspects of literature from Women's Writing in the Later Middle Ages to Metafictional Experiments in the Postmodern Novel.  During the latter part of the spring semester and over the summer vacation, you will work with a supervisor on an approved topic which you have chosen for your dissertation (to be submitted in early September.
