MA in Literary Studies
What are the key features of the course?
This programme is designed for those students who do not wish to focus their interest on one particular period. You may be seeking an opportunity to develop further some areas on which you touched in your undergraduate programme, or to study periods or topics which you were not able to investigate as an undergraduate. If you think you might wish to specialise sooner rather than later, see the Literary Studies Pathways available.
How is the course organised?
In common with our other taught Masters' programmes, students will take two one-semester core modules, and two option modules to be chosen from a list of options covering aspects of literature from Medieval Lives to Postmodern Genres and including modules in Welsh and Irish writing in English. During the Lent and Summer terms, and over the summer vacation, you will work with a supervisor on an approved topic which you have chosen for your dissertation (to be submitted in early September).
