First Year – A total of 120 credits to include:
- Ways with Words: Getting Started in Creative Writing (20 credits)
- Encountering Texts (20 credits)
- Ancestral Voices (20 credits)
plus 60 credits of modules from:
- Writer's Art: Transpositions (20 credits)
- Rewritings and Revisioning Text (20 credits)
- Contemporary Writing (20 credits)
- American Literature and Culture (20 credits)
- Greek and Roman Epic and Drama (20 credits)
- The Classical Tradition: A History of Greek and Roman Ideas (20 credits)

Second Year – A total of 120 credits to include:
- Writing Fiction and Poetry (20 credits)
- Reading Theory/Reading Text 1 (20 credits)
- Restoration and Eighteenth-Century Writing (20 credits)

Third Year – A total of 120 credits to include:
- Textual Interventions (30 credits)
