Undergraduate Entry Qualifications

We will give credit for all qualifications with UCAS tariff points.  These include AS and A-level General Studies, the Key Skills and Keys Skills Qualification and the Welsh Baccalaureate.  The standard offer includes at least a B in English Literature, or English Language and Literature, or English Language (provided a B in GCSE English Literature is also obtained).  Full details of current entry requirements can be found in the Aberystwyth Undergraduate Prospectus.

In some instances, completion of the six week West Wales Summer University course will allow to progress onto an appropriate degree course.  This programme is designed mainly for young people in Year 12/13 or young adults who:

  • have the potential to succeed at Higher Education but became of family, personal or other circumstances, are unlikely to achieve the necessary grades to gain entry without additional support
  • can demonstrate that they have the motivations and commitment to study throughout an intensive, 6-week programme
  • have been nominated by their School or College of Further Education in relation to the precise criteria on the Nomination From
