Visiting Aberystwyth

Applicants to the Department will be invited to attend a Visiting Day. We usually hold 6 per annum, 2 on Saturdays. Applicants who cannot attend an official visiting day are welcome to visit the Dept on another (week)day, by prior arrangement. At the official visiting days, applicants will meet members of staff for individual talks, will meet current students, have a talk about accommodation (and see examples of accommodation) and have a campus tour. We will not be able to provide this programme for ad hoc visitors, but we will try to ensure that all visitors meet a member of staff, lecturing and other commitments permitting. If visitors turn up with no or little prior warning, we cannot guarantee that a member of staff will be available to see them but they are welcome to look around the Dept and campus.

Interested parties who have not applied to AU are welcome to attend one of the three University Open Days held in July and October. Again, people who cannot attend on those days are welcome to visit at another time by prior arrangement, but again we will be unable to provide the full programme of events except on official Open Days.

We invite all applicants to whom we have made an offer to visit us and to meet individually with a member of staff. On the basis of this meeting, applicants may receive reduced offers. In no case will the original offer be raised or withdrawn on the basis of this meeting.
