PPPRS Review 2007

“…This web page relates to the 2007 Procurement Process, Procedures, Regulations and Systems Review (PPPRS) 2007. As the title suggests, this review will look in detail at the way purchasing is undertaken at Aberystwyth University with a view to making changes, improvements and modernisation aimed at benefiting our University and maximising value for money.

The Welsh Assembly Government places significant importance, as part of its ‘Making the Connections’ (MTC) agenda, on achieving procurement savings and efficiencies across the Welsh Public Sector. HEFCW requires Universities to deliver against MTC, including its procurement targets. Aberystwyth’s Procurement Policy and Action Plan, approved by Finance & General Purposes Committee and regularly performance assessed by HEFCW, identifies a target based need for a comprehensive review of University purchasing practices, pursuing positive change & modernisation. Mike Smith, Procurement Manager, has therefore developed the Procurement Process, Procedure, Regulation & Systems (PPPRS) Review process.

The review team consists of:

Position Member
Programme Sponsor & Director Mike Smith
Faculty of Arts Representative Kathleen Williams
Faculty of Science Representative Julian Evans Worthing
