Risk Management Framework
As part of a good governance approach, Aberystwyth University has adopted a risk management framework to help apply the principles of risk management throughout the organisation. The framework follows a Plan, Do, Check, Act approach consistent with international management standards and similar to that adopted in the existing quality based risk assessment activities such as Teaching, H&S and Environmental.
The risk management framework was introduced in October 2009 and requires all Heads of Department to submit an annual Departmental Risk Management Statement and to complete and maintain a departmental Risk Register. These returns form the basis of the Vice-Chancellor’s confirmation to Council that the University is managed appropriately, within acceptable limits and that it has adequate processes in place to continue to do so.

Risk Management Committee
